Instead, a map saved as TZ.Civ6Map will, if the map information fields within WB are left at their default settings, show up in the list of available maps when starting a new game as Untitled Map.
Somewhat confusingly, neither a mod nor a map named TZ anything will show up in either the mods list under Additional Content or the maps list when creating a game.
That will allow you access to WB, and you can start playing around with the mapmaking tools, but a further series of steps are required if you want to actually play a game on a map you create with WB. This will cause the WB access button to appear in the Civ VI Additional Content menu. To use WorldBuilder (WB) you must first enable it, following the instructions in this post. I have seen references elsewhere on the forums and around the internet to things that simply aren't that way anymore, which is another reason I decided to convert my post. Note that I hadn't tried using the WorldBuilder (henceforth WB) before the Antarctic Summer patch, which, along with the GS release-day update, apparently changed a lot of things. I just want to make some custom maps for personal use, and help other users do the same. Let me begin by saying I have both R&F and GS and I use Steam, and I am not (yet?) using FireTuner or trying to do any modding proper. Since nobody posted in response to what used to be a 'please help?' post, and I learned some pointers that I think other users might find helpful in the meantime, I decided to convert it into a 'here's some help!' post. We also shared a bunch of Civilization 6 tips, tricks and guides you may find helpful. There was originally something else here, because I had made an embarrassing oversight and couldn't figure out what I had done wrong for several days. "Civ 6 harnesses the series' great strengths and adds wonderful new features of its own in an accessible and compelling entry," Stace Harman wrote. We published our Civilization 6 review yesterday. True starting locations aren't implemented yet. And a bit more.Īverage turn time to turn 240 was around two minutes, and average turn time to turn 470 was four minutes. "But I have no idea of the minimal configuration for this." You wait your turn. The "YnAMP - Yet (not) Another Maps Pack" is still in alpha state and needs testing, but has successfully run for 500 turns with 32 civilizations on Gedemon's meaty machine (i7 4770K CPU, 16GB RAM, GTX 980 ti GPU). I'd suggest lowering the texture size in the video option - the game used almost all the 6GB of VRAM of my GPU," Gedemon wrote. The Ludicrous map is the max map size before the game refuse to load, and will take more than 4-5 minutes to load (or crash).
"Warning: The Giant map is already way above the size of the huge map, it may or may not load on your PC (and will take some time to do so). It even has its own bespoke Ludicrous map size (230x115) that can host more than 50 cilivizations! And being so bloody massive means it may make a mess of your computer. Civ Fanatics modder Gedemon has come to the rescue with an Earth map for Civilization 6 that you can download and play now.īut - hold your horses - there's something you should know before you do. So what can you do? That's Civilization 5.įortunately, heroes don't always wear capes.
And there's no Steam Workshop support yet either. There's an option in Civilization 5 to start a new game on an Earth map, but in Civilization 6 there's no such thing.
